Mini Culture Bazaar at the Platinum Jubilee On 5th June 2022 we were a part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Bitts Park. This was a fabulous day with a large-screen sing-along showing of Encanto, community stalls, performances from incredible International acts, workshops and a parade showcasing the diversity that makes us Britain.

We worked together to create the first ever Mini Culture Bazaar on 10th February 2020. This event kick-started celebrations running up to
CDEC led a group of organisations within the Same Storm, Different Boats project to bring to the fore and to support black, brown, minority ethnic, migrant and refugee people in Cumbria. The aim was to support these groups of people through the COVID crisis by pooling skills and experience harboured within the different organisations.

Dance Carousel started in 2019. It has been a women-only class sharing International dances around the world. It spawned to encourage fitness, well being, social interaction and engagement of cultures in a safe and friendly environment.
