Kirit lives in the Midlands, UK and is a patient with Type 2 diabetes. Concerned by the lack of culturally sensitive support and information for people from South Asian backgrounds, Kirit set up the Leicestershire South Asian Diabetes Support Group in 2015. Kirit is also a member of the NHS Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group Diabetes Delivery Group, to ensure diversity of patient voice & passionate about the provision of diabetes information to local communities.

Kirit is currently the Health Inequalities Lead for SAHA U.K. nhs core 20plus 5 programme o delivery partner to nhs LLR to focus on Cancer , Hypertension and Respiratory to developed community connectors to ensure greater engagement and awareness. He is also Director, and lead for Health Portfolio for Hindu Council UK.

Kirit is the chair and founder of south Asian Health Action charity and has developed Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims embrace organ donation awareness campaign. He is also a NHSBT organ donation ambassador for the Midlands. He has also developed South Asian Community Mental Health Ambassadors based on the WHO Mental Health Gap Manual.

Kirit was a carer for his parents, who were living with various long-term conditions including diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease.

Kirit has significant paid and voluntary sector experience both as a patient and community activist in research, coproduction of health and social care services. He has experience and passion in delivery of equality and diversity particularly related to Black,
