Supporting People Seeking Asylum

It has been a challenging time since April 2022 when the male hotel in Carlisle opened.   Laura Cooper our Asylum and Refugee Coordinator has been an essential link with many organisations, by building trust and respect from the residents directly.  From the hotel, to dispersal, getting them into activities and volunteering in the community for their mental health and to feel a sense of belonging.  This video helps to show what a compassionate community we live in.  Their voices may not be loud but their kindness and friendships speak much louder than words.  A smile costs nothing to the giver, but is priceless to the receiver.  Thank you to all the countless people who have stepped up with humanity in their hearts.
