Carlisle One World Centre (COWC) is a local charity aiming to:

Carlisle International Women’s Group is an all-inclusive group of multi ethnic women who meet up regularly and support each other. The group also organises local events such as the Pageant. All women and children can come along, have a cup of tea get to know other women. We have cooking demonstrations of delicious food of the world, arts and crafts and a coffee morning.
Vistula officially represents the Polish community before local authorities and other organizations. Their association has been running the Polish Saturday School in Carlisle since 2012.
AWAZ Cumbria was established as first ever county wide BME organisation in Cumbria. They work with people to improve their quality of life; support community development initiatives and partnerships; deliver training, engagement and enterprise solutions for all sectors; and provide public policy advocacy. AWAZ Cumbria also provides information, advocacy and support to BME people in complex and difficult situations by making referrals to appropriate organisations and connecting people and community networks.
City of Sanctuary
Pride in North Cumbria (PiNC) provides support services and a safe social group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning and other people; aged between 13 and 25 years.
Penrith & Eden Refugee Network
Anti Racist Cumbria’s aim is to make Cumbria the UK’s first actively anti-racist county. Their goals are to help identify and dismantle racism and embed anti-racism into the structures of the county whilst educating and engaging Cumbria’s predominantly White communities with anti-racism and uplifting the experiences, contributions and voices of our Black and Brown communities.
Eden Rural Foyer offers a community resource centre with a cyber-café, support groups, free courses on basic smartphone and computer use, and training opportunities. They also have Multicultural drop-in sessions where people can obtain confidential advice concerning immigration, social help, benefits and help with completing forms and applications.
